Andrea Hollander’s 5th full-length poetry collection, Blue Mistaken for Sky, was a finalist for the 2018 Best Book Awards in Poetry. Landscape with Female Figure: New & Selected Poems, 1982 – 2012, her 4th collection, was a finalist for the 2014 Oregon Book Award. Her first, House Without a Dreamer, won the 1993 Nicholas Roerich Poetry Prize. Hollander’s many other honors include two Pushcart Prizes (poetry and literary nonfiction), two poetry fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the D. H. Lawrence Fellowship, the Runes Poetry Prize, the Vern Rutsala Award, an Oregon Literary Fellowship, and two individual artist fellowships from the Arkansas Arts Council. For 22 years Hollander served as the Writer-in-Residence at Lyon College, where she was awarded the Lamar Williamson Prize for Excellence in Teaching. In 2011 she moved to Portland, Oregon, where she taught at both The Attic Institute and Mountain Writers Series for 6 years before founding the Ambassador Writing Seminars, a series of intensives in poetry and the personal essay that she teaches in her home.
Leanna Petronella’s poetry appears in Beloit Poetry Journal, Third Coast, Birmingham Poetry Review, CutBank, Quarterly West, ElevenEleven, and other publications. Her fiction appears in Drunken Boat, and her nonfiction appears in Brevity. She holds a PhD in English and Creative Writing from the University of Missouri, where she was Poetry Editor for the Missouri Review, and an MFA from the Michener Center for Writers at the University of Texas. She lives in Austin.
Essayist and poet Heidi Czerwiec is the author of the recently-released lyric essay collection Fluid States, selected by Dinty W. Moore as winner of Pleiades Press’ 2018 Robert C. Jones Prize for Short Prose, and the poetry collection Conjoining, and is the editor of North Dakota Is Everywhere: An Anthology of Contemporary North Dakota Poets.
