Creative writing from art is an amazing way to fuel your poetry and stories and learn more about art and art history. Join us whether you are just beginning to explore writing from art prompts, or looking for ways to refresh your ekphrastic practice. We will engage with a variety of intriguing artworks in playful new ways through some brainstorming techniques, discussion and writing exercises. There will also be a reading list with links to take home and explore different responses to art and different ways of responding in a curated selection of ekphrastic poetry and fiction.

Lorette C. Luzajic founded The Ekphrastic Review, a journal of writing inspired by visual art, nine years ago. She loves to show others, through publishing, teaching and writing, that art is enchanted. She has taught ekphrastic writing by Zoom around the world, and in person locally in Toronto, Canada. Her five collections of ekphrastic poetry and small stories include The Rope Artist, Winter in June, and Pretty Time Machine. Her ekphrastic work has been published in hundreds of literary journals. Lorette is also an award-winning mixed media visual artist with collectors in forty countries so far. Visit her at www.mixedupmedia.ca or read The Ekphrastic Review at www.ekphrastic.net.
